Orti Typeface (2022)

The name “Orti” is taken from the word “portion”, because for this typeface, each letterform is broken up into four parts which are positioned at the top, bottom, left and right of a squared area. The final shape of the letterforms are then determined by the letter/glyph preceding or following it in a run of text.

I wanted to explore complexity and randomness to create interesting combinations and the results do not disappoint with a seemingly infinite amount of combinations and unexpected forms.
