Exploring concepts of simulated history and future discovery, this framed typographic ceramic artwork uses a pen plotter machine with handmade tool to etch a single word into clay (can you decipher it?). Written using my custom exploratory typeface 'Agon', this piece forms part of my ongoing exploration of letterforms, code and clay.
Carved with a pen plotter (CNC drawing machine), refined by hand to crafted finish then glazed with an emerald green glaze and fired to 1280°C. This piece measures approx 215 x 250mm framed.

With ceramic objects potentially lasting for hundreds, if not, thousands of years, there is a fun thought that this artwork could be discovered as an undeciphered lost script eons in the future.
